Focus on Universities: UCAS Evening for Year 12 Students & Parents
By Mrs Collins, Director of University Admissions
Year 12 parents and girls were welcomed into school last Tuesday for the UCAS information evening, with Mrs Collins and Ms Copin speaking about the current landscape for applications and the various steps to application readiness. Year 12 are actively researching courses and options at the moment, ready to develop and deepen their application preparation over the coming term.
The evening follows on from January’s Futures Day for Year 12, when the girls explored the options open to them, from Degree Apprenticeships and traditional courses, to vocational courses, gap years and international applications. Girls have been building their profiles on Unifrog and researching their own interests. Topics covered included developing their own lines of inquiry and specialisms. This will help not only with personal statements when the time comes, but will also help girls establish what they want to study and will support any tests or interviews they may have in future.
Year 12 have engaged with these stages with a great sense of energy and enthusiasm. With many positive ongoing conversations, it’s an exciting time for the year group.
