Inaugural Meeting of our European Parliament Ambassador Schools (EPAS) Programme
On Wednesday students involved with the European Parliament Ambassador School (EPAS) Programme had their inaugural session. The end goal of being part of the EPAS programme is to raise awareness and provide information about Europe to students. After completing certain criteria we will become an accredited Ambassador School. This would involve the potential for a group of students to travel to Strasbourg or Brussels to visit and take part in events with hundreds of students across Europe.
The Year 12 students will be involved with planning and running events around school, throughout the school year culminating with a Europe Day Celebration on and around 9th May 2024. These events and activities will be organised to introduce, in fun and interesting ways, elements of democracy, culture, leadership, teamwork and communication. Students will have to opportunity to also work with staff, other clubs, and subjects in the school to help link European aspects to the activities.
We look forward to the year ahead and the many events and activities that the Year 12 students are keen to promote and run.
