Las Aventuras de Nuestra Mascota Española, Pepa

We would like to introduce you to Pepa, our Year 11 Spanish class mascot! Pepa gets to spend every week with a different student in the class, who every Friday updates Pepa’s own page, ‘Las Aventuras de Pepa’ (Pepa’s Adventures), with a photo and a summary of what they have been up to that week (in Spanish), of course!

Here is what Pepa got up to in her first week at Señora Alonso’s house (introduction ) and week 2 with Year 11 Ella and her family, in both English and Spanish.

Semana 1

La fecha: Del 27 enero al 3 de febrero

Estoy pasando esta semana con La Sra. Alonso!

“Hola a todas. ¡¡Estoy muy contenta de conoceros!! 💕

Voy a presentarme:

Hello, everyone!! I am very happy to meet you! 💕

Allow me to introduce myself: my name is Pepa and I am 11A’s Mascot.  Your mascot!

During the pandemic Ms Alonso’s daughter learnt to crochet, and this is now her favourite pastime.  One day, she decided to create me as a present for you all.  She has also made Pepe, who is now 11C’s mascot.  She is really good at crochet!

Every week I will be telling you here my adventures with one of you.  How cool!!

WEEK 1

I spent this week with Ms Alonso and her family.  It was cold and raining, so we spent a lot of time at home.

During the day I played with Mickey, the family cat.  Mickey is my best friend; but he is also a bit naughty.  He loves to jump on top of the wardrobe. How dangerous! 👀

On Saturday we went for a walk in the park, and on Sunday we had dinner in a nice Spanish restaurant. The ‘patatas bravas’ were really good, and Ms Alonso had too many!!

During the week I stayed at home with Mickey because everyone in the family was working or studying, but I didn’t mind, because I always have a great time when I am with him!

I cannot wait to spend time with you!

I want to have new adventures with my friends in 11A!!

Semana 2

La fecha: 05/02/23

Estoy pasando esta semana con… Ella

This week I have spent time with Ella and her family.  At the beginning it was a bit strange to be far from Ms Alonso and Mickey, however, soon enough Ella introduced me to the family and I felt welcome and happy.

On Saturday I went for a long walk along the Thames with Ella and her dad.  In my opinion the weather was good; although it was freezing cold, it was sunny and there were just a few clouds.  Here is a photo of me during the walk:

After the walk, we went to get an ice cream in a local shop in Chiswick’s high street.  We met Ella’s mum and brother there and I had a mint ice cream.  Ella had caramel and both her dad and mum had pistachio; her brother had a chocolate ice cream.

After that we went home, and I played with Ella’s dog.  Although Mickey is still my best friend, Ella’s dog, called Ziggy, is my second best friend.  We spent a lot of time hiding under the sofas and the armchairs.

The best part of the day was when we went to have an ice cream, as I discovered a new ice cream flavour, mint, and it was delicious!

In the afternoon we watched a comedy called ‘Just go with it’.  I was interested in the characters, but my favourite one was Jennifer Anniston’s .

Bye, Ella!  I had great time!
