Launch of our Scientist in Residence Programme 2022
We are delighted to announce the launch of our Scientist in Residence programme for 2022. The first sessions took place this week and will continue every Tuesday until the end of term, with further sessions in the Autumn Term.
Over 70 students from Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 will have the opportunity to work with our Scientist in Residence, Tessa Forbes, on a programme of experiments and investigations relating to the heart and circulatory system. Tessa has recently submitted her PhD thesis in Translational Cardiovascular Science at the University of Bristol. Her research focused on abdominal aortic aneurysms (funded by the British Heart Foundation). Before completing her PhD, she worked in a laboratory and studied Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge.
This week students conducted some blood testing to work out which blood groups the samples came from.
We look forward to hearing the results of the programme.
