Launch of the Green STEM Challenge 2024
Last week we were excited to launch the Green STEM Challenge for 2024, our STEM sustainability project which gives Year 12 students from NHEHS and six local partner schools the chance to tackle a higher level research project.
Students will develop solutions in collaborative groups to the climate and energy crisis over four events, under the guidance of Doctoral research scientists from Imperial College. The final session in March will see pupils present their work at the Natural History Museum. We were joined at the launch by students from Dormers Wells High School, Greenford High School, Ellen Wilkinson High School, Drayton Manor High School, Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School and Queen Elizabeth’s School, Barnet.
Eight NHEHS students from Year 12 took part, following a knockout competition the previous week to compete for places. Their presentations were brilliant and it was extremely difficult for us to choose the final eight! Thank you to Ms Brown for coordinating the event.
Looking forward to more collaboration in 2024!
