Lions and Unicorns at the Year 10 Harrow Symposium
The annual Year 10 Symposium with Harrow kicked off earlier this week. This year’s theme is ‘Lions and Unicorns’ – so all questions posed, regardless of subject area, have some sort of link to the theme. For example, the Maths problem was ‘Name the Lion and the Christian (or man in some places)’ and the Chemistry problem was ‘Are Li-ion batteries the solution to storing the world’s renewable energy or is a unicorn like hydrogen needed?’
Students were put into groups and enjoyed ice breaker activities to get to know their Harrow peers before beginning to research their question.
Over the coming weeks, they will meet virtually a number of times to discuss their progress towards creating a final article ready for production, which they will present after half term. The presentations will be delivered to a room of select staff, students and parents from both schools.
