"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Musicians Shine at Summer Teatime Concert

By Miss Goodsell, Director of Music

For our second concert of term, we called on families and friends of our musicians to grab a cup of tea and sit down to enjoy some wonderful music at our Teatime Concert last week. Performed in our Recital Hall, the concert was streamed on our YouTube channel, which is still available to watch if you missed it here.

The concert opened with a stylish performance from Poppy performing ‘Opening Night Jazz’ by Martha Mier. We continued with a great variety of performances from Meher on flute, to Annabelle on both flute and voice to Lily playing some beautiful Brahms. Well done to all who took part!

By Annabelle T, Year 7

“This half term’s tea time concert was in person, which felt really nice compared to the last tea time concert on Google Meet that had everybody performing from their bedrooms! Students preparing for ABRSM exams played or sung to an audience of fellow performers, and the concert was also live streamed on YouTube. I performed a piece on my flute and I sang, and I felt that the concert really helped me get used to performing to other people in preparation for my upcoming ABRSM flute and singing exams.

I also really enjoyed watching everybody else’s brilliant performances, which included people playing the piano, the flute and the violin, with styles ranging from jazz to songs from musicals.”
