"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

NHEHS Develops and Launches Innovative GDST MBA Course

The school was delighted to welcome its first cohort for the new GDST MBA course, developed in a partnership between NHEHS staff (Miss Watkins and Ms Copin), in partnership with Dr Suzanne Pollack, Teaching Fellow at Henley Business School. Ms Copin states: “There was a clear need for a course which combined business knowhow with up-to-date coaching on broader leadership practice. Our Head of Economics and Enterprise Co-ordinator, Miss Watkins, was ideally placed to develop this course, and we were thrilled to bring on board Dr Pollack, who teaches on one of the top Business School programmes in the country.”

The course is innovative in both scope and content: it combines live sessions and self-guided learning, which alternate between the business and leadership strands. This is uniquely helpful to Sixth Form students whose time at NHEHS is characterised by the variety of leadership roles which they take on, and by their insatiable appetite for getting things done!

The course has already shown great promise: at the time of writing, 40 students across three GDST schools have signed up to participate. The course has also been discussed with UCAS and two leading business schools, and we look forward to the next stage of accreditation, and to hearing how the current cohort gets on.
