"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

NHEHS Has Got Talent – The HGT Talent Show

By Li An T, Head Girl

At 2:30pm on Thursday 9th December, the students and staff at NHEHS were not sitting in classrooms, as one might expect, busily learning equations, writing essays, carrying out experiments, or learning about historical events, but instead they were filling the main hall with excitement and enthusiasm as students across the school showcased their various talents in a whole-school Talent Show, some solo and others in groups. There were acts ranging from singing, to dancing, to stand-up comedy, all of which were extremely impressive and thoroughly enjoyed by the students and staff in the audience!

We were lucky to have Salem as the host, who, in Year 7, won the school Talent Show with her sister. “The talent show this year was absolutely phenomenal!” she said, “Despite nerves, every student who showcased their talent killed it and you could see this through the enthusiastic audience with some students giving a standing ovation to each act! That afternoon was one to remember and I have never been prouder of Notting Hill as we all came together to celebrate each other.”

Ella from Year 7 (pictured) who took part in the talent show this year said, “I think the talent show was a great confidence building and fun event. As my talent I did Stand Up (well sit down) Comedy, I was rather nervous about doing this and those who set up the talent show were very nice and supportive. A massive thank you to everyone who was involved, I look forward to doing it again next year.”

The judging panel consisted of some members of the Head Girl Team who will decide who receives the winning prize, and another winner will be chosen by the school by voting for their favourite acts. These exciting results will be announced in the assembly on the last day of term!

Overall, the afternoon was a massive success, not only were students allowed to miss Period 7, but the many talents of students across the school were made apparent in the form of a friendly, encouraging Talent Show.

A huge well done to everyone who participated!
