There were some fantastic performances on January 23rd at the annual NHEHS Musician of the Year competition. 

With awards in two categories, Years 7-9 and Years 10-13, all year groups worked hard to prepare pieces for the event.

Years 7-9: 

1st: Shreya (violin)- ‘Remembrances’ by John Williams

2nd: Yuna (piano)- ‘Valse Etude’ by William Gillock

3rd: Chloe (flute) – ‘Moonlit Blue’ by Blaz Pucihar

Years 10-13:

1st: Bethan (flute)- ‘Cantabile et Presto’ by George Enesco

2nd: Grace (violin)- ‘Sonatensatz Scherzo’ Johannes Brahms

3rd: Charlotte (flute) – ‘Fantasie’ by Gabriel Fauré

Highly Commended: Jaya (cello)- ‘Elegie’ by Gabriel Fauré
