NHEHS Shortlisted in the IDPE Awards for Schools Fundraising Campaign of the Year!

We are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted in the IDPE (Independent for Development Professionals in Education) awards as Schools Fundraising Campaign of the Year (five years or under)!

The judges were impressed by our innovation in creating the ‘1% method’ by which we invite parents to have 1% of their daughter’s fees automatically added to their monthly / termly school bill (currently £18.52 per month). This creates a regular way for busy, hard-working parents who want to help to give to Bursaries, simply by filling in a Google form with the pledge’s length. It is sustainable and inflation-proof, worth over £70,000 to date, and has attracted 49 donors. All of the funds raised are going to increase social mobility at our school by creating a new transformational bursary as a philanthropic legacy of our 150th birthday celebrations.

Read from some of those parents who have already signed up to the ‘1% method:’

‘‘We have been moved by the heartfelt accounts shared by the students who have benefited from the NHEHS bursary programme. Their stories have inspired us to join in this important cause. Our motivation to contribute stems from a deep belief in providing an excellent educational opportunity to girls who may face financial challenges. Witnessing the positive impact of a well rounded curriculum and diverse extracurricular activities, such as music, drama, art and sports we strongly believe in extending these benefits to more students.’ Year 1 parents 2023

‘As parents of girls at NHEHS we decided to donate to the Bursary fund so that girls requiring financial assistance who could otherwise not afford a private education are given the opportunity to join. Our girls have benefited from a broad curriculum which has stretched their intellectual curiosity as well as offering them a wide range of extracurricular activities including excellent music, drama and sport. If we can help other girls to benefit from the same education it will ensure that we leave a legacy for future generations.’ Year 10 and Year 13 parents 2023

To join them and give the gift of education to a local girl with the talent but not the means to come to NHEHS click here. We’ll keep you posted on whether we win!
