"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

NHEHS Students Shortlisted for Ealing Sports Awards

We were thrilled to hear that three of our students were shortlisted for the Ealing Sports Awards 2022 sponsored by Everyone Active.

Year 9 Jaspreet G and Year 6 Lana G have both been shortlisted for the Ealing Junior Sports Person of the Year Award out of over 100 juniors who were nominated for their achievements this year across a variety of sports.

Jaspreet spoke about her reaction on hearing the news, “I am very grateful for being shortlisted for Ealing Junior Sports Person of the Year. I was not expecting this and I feel very honoured and proud as well as motivated to keep working hard and following my passion for sports. I hope that I can someday be a role model for others and empower them to dream big and stay active in their lives.”

On being shortlisted, Lana said, “I was very surprised and feel extremely honoured to be shortlisted for an award, especially as the awards are so competitive and I am only a Year 6 student. It means so much to me that my hard work and dedication to sports has been noticed . Being shortlisted for an Ealing Council award will encourage me to believe in myself and my abilities. I am determined to achieve success for my clubs & school, as well as aspiring to represent England in the future. Thank you for this amazing recognition for doing something that I love.”

Year 11 Gen P has also been shortlisted for the Junior Volunteer of the Year in Ealing Award for her coaching with Academy Netball Club. Gen said of her shortlisting, “Recently I have had the massive honour of being nominated for Junior Volunteer of the Year in Ealing for my netball coaching. I am so grateful for the recognition of the effort and time I put into this. I love watching players improve and enjoy playing even more during the season and am so blown away by the support I have had from my club, Academy NC, in helping further my skills as a coach and for the amazing environment they have offered my in which I can flourish and learn new techniques and ways of communicating. I hope to continue volunteering there for years to come. Thank you so much for this nomination!!

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony which takes place on 12th July 2022 at William Perkin C of E School.  We have all our fingers crossed!
