Notting Hill & Ealing Sport – Back and Better Than Ever

By Hannah K, Year 10 Journalist Leader

At NHEHS sport is soaring, with many teams competing and receiving results in every game, tournament or gala. One of the most high achieving sports teams is the U15 netball team.

This squad consists of nine players  who all individually bring a different aspect on the court. The Captain on this team is Addy who plays the position of Center. The Vice Captain is Ella who plays GA (goal attack)

“It’s a fast and exciting sport that I love to play,” said Addy. “We all have a lot of fun playing as a team together.”

With a fantastic kick off to this year, the team has come third in the Ibstock Tournament, 2nd in the Harrodian Tournament and was undefeated in the Middlesex Preliminary round, pushing the team through to the next round of county. The NHEHS U15 netball team currently ranks at the top of their preliminary Middlesex County group.

Over the past couple of years this team has kept the connection when they play together, despite not being able to have any game experience during the two years of Covid 19 lockdowns. Their coach Miss Dunkley empowers the players to reach high levels and present more than satisfactory outcomes.

“This team is just the ‘BEST TEAM’….. The ‘Best Team’ is not the team with the ‘Best Players’ but the team that plays the best………..TOGETHER. The U15s is a together team!! “ said Miss Dunkley, the coach of their team.

The U15 Netball team always strives for improvement in their play using new tactics and strategies to outwit their opponents. One  of the shooters, Hope,  said “It is always best to beat a team that has previously won against us. It just says ‘ look we are fighters and we won’t give up.’’ Inspirational and hard working are one of the many things this team has become and what the future holds can only be better.

As one of our Year 10 Journalist Leaders, Hannah has signed up for the Newquest Young Reporter scheme and this together with her subsequent articles will be published on This is Local London’s Young Reporter news site here.
