Percussion Ensemble Bring the House Down at Autumn Concert
By Miss Goodsell, Director of Music
The newly formed percussion ensemble, led by Mr Gale gave their debut performance at the Autumn Concert last week. Causing the audience to hold onto their seats, Khachaturian’s ‘Sabre Dance’ raised the roof. The Year 7 Rock band also performed with great style, performing ‘Shake it off’ Taylor Swift. Mr Guthrie’s chamber choirs sang beautifully, the older ensemble singing ‘Dirait on’ by Lauridson and the Year 7 group ‘Five Eyes’ by Armstrong Gibbs. The Choir, our new, 70 strong all through choir sang with great enthusiasm, and even managed to coordinate the body percussion to ‘Bring me little water Silvy.’ Bassoon Quintet has grown again and now has 7 members, they performed ‘Liberty Bell March.’
There were some fantastic performances across the board, well done to all (170!) who took part. Watch our musicians perform on our Instagram.
