"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

By Mrs Johnson, Charities Co-Ordinator

We sent off over 40 hampers and boxes full of food to Ealing Foodbank for our Harvest Collection last week. Thank you for all your generosity – Ealing Foodbank were delighted! There were house points for each of the winning and runners up forms who put the hampers together:

Best presentation: Winners – 9S, Runners up – 7S, 8D, 11D, 8G

Largest quantity collected: Winners – 7E, Runners up – 8G, 10G, 8T

Mr Shoults presented the winners with chocolates in assembly on Monday morning.

Anti-Slavery International

Year 11 put on a film showing last Friday and earlier in the week a teacher karaoke last week in aid of their chosen charity, Anti-Slavery International. The karaoke was great fun with Dr Snook wowing the audience with a fantastic performance! Thank you to all the teachers for taking part.

Staff Macmillan Coffee Morning

On Friday  24th of September, we held the annual fundraising Macmillan coffee morning in the staffroom. The Macmillan coffee morning is known as the world’s biggest coffee event,  organised to raise money and awareness for cancer and people living through cancer. The event dates back to the 1990s and combines people’s passion for socializing over a cup of coffee with solidarity. Mrs Critcher was the perfect host and, in her own words, she describes the event as:

“All day, there was a delicious array of treats for staff to enjoy, including a homemade Caecilius the Caterpillar cake (not a Colin or a Cuthbert in sight)”.  The total raised was a fantastic £225.69

The Log Cabin

There is still time to donate to The Log Cabin through our Ealing Half Marathon Just Giving page which we will be leaving open until half term. The money we have raised so far will go towards building a (much needed) brand new playground for the children as their old one had to be taken down. Thank you.

Year 10 and 11 Volunteering

Volunteering locally has started up again this term as part of the Year 10 and 11 Enrichment Programme, with our volunteers heading out on Tuesday afternoons to Horsenden Grape and Honey Farm, Pitshanger Park and local Care Homes.

After half term it will be the turn of Year 10 to fundraise for their chosen charity, Women’s Aid, which is working to end domestic abuse against women and children.
