Should The UN Adopt a Feminist Foreign Policy? – Debating at the GDST Model United Nations

By Miss Gordon, Public Speaking Co-ordinator

On Friday 24th February five of our students took part in the GDST Model United Nations at Bromley High School together with 80 other pupils from other GDST schools. For four out of the five students this was their first MUN experience. It was wonderful to see them get so stuck in, representing Gabon. In committees, they debated whether/not the UN should adopt a ‘Feminist Foreign Policy’. This was raised to evaluate the impact of Sweden’s decision in October 2022 to drop their policy, only 8 years after having been the first country to adopt one.

The students came back incredibly enthused and we have started working as a group to host our own MUN this Summer Term! Well done to Iva R (Year 12), Imogen D (Year 13), Daisy B (Year 12), Anna W (Year 12), and Viv S (Year 12).
