"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Sport: In Focus – Year 10 Ansley on Rowing

The third of our PE department’s “In Focus” series featuring our pupils’ sports activities outside NHEHS focuses on keen rower Ansley from Year 10. “In Focus” is also shared on the PE department’s Instagram account and on the Sports Notice Board.

“Outside of school I do rowing around five times a week, and it is something I really enjoy doing even though it takes up quite a lot of my spare time! I started when I was 11, and it is a sport I really love and hope to carry on doing for a long time. I currently row at TSS (Tideway Scullers School) for their Junior Women’s team, which I have been doing for nearly two years now and it is super fun! I’ve had loads of fun training and going to regattas, which are super fun to race in! Below is a picture one of my friend’s moms took when we went under Barnes Bridge, and this was over Christmas before we went into the third lockdown and had to stop going on the water. I’m the one at the bow (with the braid)- I wasn’t wearing full kit because I was cold and was wearing a sweatshirt!”

You can read the first two “In Focus” articles on Minna and Zoe here.
