Sports Update – December 10th 2021

We finished term with a very active couple of weeks for all our teams across a number of sports with some really excellent performances. We’ve also enjoyed all our House netball too – read about the Year 7s here, Year 8s here and the Year 9s here.

Athletics

Our U12 athletes took part in the first round of the London Youth Games Indoor Athletics Sports Hall competition at the end of November. We placed second overall and just missed out on qualification for the Ealing Borough finals.

There were some fantastic athletics on show from students. Congratulations to Rebecca H, Mary-Kate T, Lily Z and Iskra C-P for all winning their races. Impressive field results included: Broad Jump: 1m98 from Rebecca H, Standing triple jump: 5m35 from Mary-Kate T, Speed Bounce: 63 bounces from Meredith J, Shot Putt: 6m20 from Caroline S and Vertical Jump: 55cm from Iskra C-P.

The following week our U13 team placed first overall in their heat and qualified for the Ealing Borough Finals in January!

Football

On December 3rd our U12 and U13 football teams took on St Augustine’s Priory away and both managed goalless draws. On December 8th we sent three of our students to the GDST Select U15 Football Trials – Zoe D, Sylvie T and Daisy K. We wait to hear how they got on!

Hockey

Congratulations to the U18 Hockey Team who on November 23rd won the regional round of their tournament and are off to Nationals on the 7th February- the first NHEHS team to ever make it to Nationals in Hockey! They defeated St Benedict’s 2-0 and Trinity 6-0.
