"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

County & Regional Stars: Students Shine in 9 Different Sports

With another action-packed term of events ahead of the Sports Department, we have been looking back over some of the individual successes of some of our students in 2023.

We are delighted to announce that 22 of our students have represented their county in hockey, netball, tennis, swimming, waterpolo, cross country and athletics. Ten students were chosen to represent their borough at the London Youth Games across hockey, netball, cross country, athletics and tennis. Fifteen students were selected across five sports to represent their region (hockey, swimming, netball, aerobic gymnastics and athletics). One student was also chosen as part of the Team GB Squad for waterpolo with another representing England in touch rugby. Congratulations to everyone – we are looking forward to watching your progress in 2024!

Coming up, we have a busy schedule of tournaments, rallies and competitions taking place in the first half of this term, including:

  • U12, U13 and U15 Lady Taverners Cricket Tournaments at Lord’s Cricket Ground – January and February
  • GDST Select Hockey trials (three NHEHS hockey players attending the trials) – January
  • GDST Select Netball match (one NHEHS netballer selected) – January
  • GDST Swimming Rally – January
  • U18 Waterpolo National Schools Qualifiers – January
  • The Big Dance Off – February
  • Middlesex Schools Cross Country Champs (selected students) – February
  • GDST Sports Scholars Day at Sutton High School – February

Good luck to all our teams! Follow their progress on our Sports Instagram and Twitter.
