Thank you, Parents’ Guild for our Cricket Nets!

By Jaspreet G, Year 9

During the October half term break, we had an exciting new installation in the sports hall. We had got cricket nets! As a cricketer in school, I can see the huge advantages of these nets and we can’t wait to use them.

We were all so excited to hear this as we knew that this would improve our skills. With these nets we can eliminate the need for fielders, and everyone can work on the same thing so we can save practice time. These nets are useful and beneficial as they can really help us train throughout the winter so we can be fully prepared for the summer season.

As well as this, we don’t need to go off site to practice our cricket anymore, and the new cricket nets will make our training sessions a little different and we can get used to facing the correct pace bowl and the correct bounce on a ball. Practicing on-site instead of off-site, again, eliminates the time wasted on travel.

I feel that the nets will really improve our skills and using these in training will be beneficial for our training throughout the winter. When the summer season finally arrives, we will be ready to go and win!

A huge thank you to our Parents’ Guild for funding the nets!
