Top Tips on How to Make Charitable Donations For Less: Pay Roll Giving in Action Webinar
Last Tuesday Amelia Tucker of Pay Roll Giving in Action gave parents an online presentation about this scheme which allows you to make charitable donations through your pay with considerable tax advantage.
Key points were:
It gives more to the causes you care about
It provides hassle-free giving
An example:
You donate £10
Costs you as a 20% tax payer £8
Costs you as a 40% tax payer £6
Costs you as a 45% tax payer £5.50
“Gross up” donations are also possible, for example: £10 a month actually costs donor £8 If you are happy for it to cost £10 and you pay regular 20% tax, then you can donate £12.50 If you are happy for it to cost £10, and you pay higher 40% tax then you can donate £16.70
All you will have to do is give your HR/Payroll team the charity number of the charity/charities you wish to support. If those include the NHEHS’ Bursary Appeal, the GDST charity number is 306983, thank you so much!; please let our Development Manager, Molly Tollit, m.tollit@nhehs.gdst.net know so that she can ensure your gift is correctly allocated.
