Tycoon Enterprise for Year 9 – Skinterest – Skincare for Teenagers
Two of our future entrepreneurs have been busy setting up Skinterest – their new business as part of The Tycoon Enterprise Competition. Tycoon, a national enterprise competition for students aged 6-18, was founded by Peter Jones CBE in 2012, as part of his campaign to foster a start-up culture through encouraging and supporting enterprise education in the UK.
All teams write a business plan, are then loaned money, before starting up and trading.
Romilly C and Manpreet G are the founders of Skinterest and have got off to a great start, having already made over £300 from their fledgling business.
Here’s what they had to say about it:
“We are two Year 9s who really enjoy a challenge. We chose to base our business around skincare bundles and we have really enjoyed this experience so far. We would recommend others who are looking for a fun thing to do with your friends because it is a very rewarding experience.
The best thing for us about this is being able to control your own budget and learning everything you need to know about how to run a business.
Our Skinterest products are gentle, effective, and made specifically for teenage skin, offering natural solutions at affordable prices. We’re on a mission to boost confidence and promote healthy skincare habits among teens everywhere.”
Check out Skinterest’s website here where you can buy individual products, or one of their popular bundles which consist of a variety of products, including headbands, face masks, lip balms, scrunchies and facial brushes.
