U10A Netball Team Win Silver at Newland House Tournament
By Mrs Vao, Head of Junior PE
On Saturday 24th September, a squad of nine Year 5 girls travelled to Newland House School in Twickenham to play in their first netball tournament of the season.
A total of twelve schools took part and were divided in to three groups. The games were 4 minutes each way so keeping possession and putting the ball through the hoop was key.
NHEHS won two and drew one of their group matches to top their group. Teams were then reshuffled for the last round of games which would also decide the final placings in the tournament.
Our NHEHS team were combining well, ball placement had improved, and strong defence created turn over ball. NHEHS were unfortunate to lose against Bute House 2 – 1, but, had decisive wins against Orchard House and The Roche to finish 2nd overall!
It was a great morning of netball, aided by a lovely sunny day.
Well done girls on a fantastic morning of netball!
