"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Ansley V competed in the quad event where she represented Tideway Scullers at the recent National Schools Regatta and finished 4th in A Final.

Athletics

A large NHEHS squad competed in a friendly athletics competition on June 7th at Perivale track. Our U12, U13 and U14 athletes took part in track and field events against Ada Lovelace School, St Benedict’s School and St Augustine’s Priory School. Lucia threw an impressive 8.1m in U14 shot, Lilly threw 19m in U13 javelin, Sofia won the U12 800m and we had strong relay teams in the U12 and U13, finishing in the top 3.

13 NHEHS athletes from Year 8, 9 and 100 took part in the Middlesex Schools Athletics Championships at Lee Valley on 10th June. Well done to all competing on a scorching day, with special congratulations to Morven (1st in U17 High Jump & 3rd in U17 75m Hurdles), Georgia (1st in U17 javelin) and Minna (1st in U15 High Jump with a 10 cm PB of 1.50m & 2nd in U15 75m Hurdles), Lucia (2nd in U15 shot), Natasha (3rd in U17 800m).

Having qualified from the Middlesex round, our Junior Athletics Squad of Year 7 and 8 travelled to Croydon on 12th June for the Regional B finals of the ESAA (English Schools Athletics Association) Track and Field Cup. The Junior team finished 9th in their section, scoring a total of 309 points, which is an improvement on the points they scored at the Middlesex round with several PBs recorded on the day. Our Intermediate Squad (Year 9 and 10) will travel to Watford next week for their Regional A finals of the same competition.

Cricket

Our U12 Hardball team won by 7 wickets against Highgate School on 6th June.

Our U13 cricketers took part in the Godolphin & Latymer Cricket Softball Competition on 14th June and finished first in the tournament with the highest run rate. Our U13 hardball team won by 67 runs away at Harrodian School on 12th June.

Tennis

The U15 tennis team had a wonderful time at Harrow on June 15th playing tennis in the beautiful sunshine, which coincided with the Year 10 Enrichment Week.

Mr Bennett said, “this was a fabulous event which allowed the girls to experience playing mixed doubles with the boys and provided the perfect opportunity to socialise whilst playing sport. I am very much hoping this can become an annual event.”

Upcoming Senior Sports Tour to South Africa

We are also delighted to announce that we are planning a Senior Sports Tour to South Africa in October 2024. The tour will be to Cape Town, South Africa, with a few days at the end spent in Stellenbosch and Albertina. It will comprise of three training sessions led by professional coaches, four fixtures and cultural activities such as a boat trip to and tour of Robben Island, a journey up Table Mountain by cable car, and a visit to Muizenburg Bay for a fantastic surf lesson. Four fixtures for the netball, hockey and waterpolo squads will take place against local teams throughout the week. The trip will end with two nights at The Garden Route Game Lodge for a true South African safari.
