"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Weekly Sports Update September 16th 2022

It was a super successful week for all our teams, making it hard to pick our teams of the week! Joint teams of the week were our U15A and U12A netball teams for winning the Ibstock Tournament and also our Intermediate Tennis Team for winning the Regional Team Tennis Final.

Netball

Our U18A team enjoyed an excellent weekend for our Senior team. Day 1 was a day of coaching from England netballer Beth Cobden followed the next day by a tournament where we finished second, playing against Francis Holland, St Mary’s Cambridge, Sydenham High and Queen’s College, London.

Our U12A team made a great start to the year by winning the Ibstock Tournament and all picked up gold medals. In the Pool games, they beat Godolphin & Latymer 8-3, Ibstock Place 13-4, Kew House 12-0 before beating Highgate 6-3 in the semi final. In the final, NHEHS took the win 9-4 against Surbiton High. Team: Sofia B, Aila A, Agnes F-C, Lana G, Anishka G (Captain), Erin L, Alice N, Sophie R, Nikita S-K, Cosima LD.

Our U15A team were also victorious at the Ibstock tournament! In the Pool, our team got over a sticky start with a 2-7 defeat vs Surbiton High, with a 9-5 win vs Lady Eleanor Holles, a 17-5 vs Tiffin Girls, 17-5 win vs Harrodian. In the semi-final we won 13-6 against Godolphin & Latymer and beat Surbiton 7-6 in the final. Team: Morven P (captain), Dana N, Georgia C, Sophia P, Julia B, Jasmine DRR, Jaspreet G, Pearl M, India R.

Our U18A team also took part in the Ibstock tournament and had a great afternoon of senior netball, placing 9th out of 13 teams, having lost 3 of 6 games. We learned a lot and the team bonded well so we are looking forward to more training sessions to work on our skills.

Away from the tournaments, our U15 teams played away to St Augustine’s on 15th September. Our U15B team lost 6-19 to St Augustine’s A team (MVP Carolina R), our C team won 11-4 against the B team (MVP Helena E) and our D team won 8-7 against St Augustine’s C team (MVP Claire I).

Our U13B-E teams played in their own busy afternoon of netball at St Augustine’s Priory on 13th September. Our U13B team beat St Augustine’s A team 10-4 (MVP Johanna D) and our U13C team beat St Augustine’s B team 6-2 (MVP Sophia LK). Our D also won 10-4 vs the C team (MVP Ottilie ODT) with our E team drawing 3-3 with St Augustine’s D team.

Tennis

A huge well done to our U15A tennis team who won the LTA County tennis final against City of London School for Girls! Congratulations to Abby G, Beatrice C, Zahara H, Emmeline L and Hannah K.
