Year 11 Holds Gilmore Girls-Themed Charity Event for Action Breaks Silence
By Ishita N, Year 11 Journalist Leader
Year 11 had the great opportunity to kick off this year’s charity season with their month dedicated to raising money for Action Breaks Silence, a charity that visits schools around the UK, educating schools and campaigning to end violence against women and girls.
As a school dedicated to empowering girls, we felt that this was a fitting charity to support. One of our events was a Gilmore Girls watch party where we sold baked treats and hot chocolate to students. We felt it was very fitting for autumn and we met lots of fellow Gilmore Girls fans along the way. It was incredibly rewarding to see so many students turning up to support the cause and enjoying themselves at the event, along with all the money we raised for such an important organisation. We can’t wait for the next event!
