Year 12 Maya Takes Second Place in STEM Writing Competition

Congratulations to Maya S in Year 12 for taking second place in the Under 18 Science Writing category in Sydenham High School’s #700STEMChallenge. The competition, initiated by a sixth former from Sydenham in 2018, has been running every year since and is open to both GDST and local London schools. This year saw over 70 entries where students were invited to write 700 words on a topic of their choice.

You can read Maya’s thoughtful article on “Why is there mistrust of medical professionals and healthcare in black communities”  in the 2021 Finalists’ Magazine here.
