Year 13s Hold Strong University Offers for Competitive Courses Ahead of Offer Deadline
By Mrs Collins, Director of University Admissions
With the offer deadline still weeks away, our current Year 13s hold very strong university offers so far, with our candidates this year again receiving offers for highly competitive courses.
Five of our students have offers from Cambridge or Oxford, to read subjects ranging from Materials Science to Music, Classics, English and Law. Another student holds an offer from Cornell in the USA with a view to majoring in Engineering. Year 13 are also holding offers for Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy, Natural Sciences, and Mathematics, with the range of courses continuing to impress.
Each year group has their own interests and this year is no exception. As well as more traditional courses such as Law, Modern Languages (Chinese, German, Italian), Philosophy, Chemistry, Economics, Biomedical Sciences, Drama and History, students also have offers to read Computer Science and AI, Ecology and Conservation, Egyptology and Classics, Linguistics, and Zoology, all at competitive institutions. Psychology, Medicine and Maths remain popular courses once again. Final offers are made in May so we look forward to further good news until then.
We are delighted to support the students with whichever course they are aiming for, with each year group having its own new range of ambitions. Many more courses this year required interviews or some form of admissions testing as part of the application, which we were happy to successfully support students with.
Earlier this week we welcomed a speaker from Bath University who addressed our Year 12 cohort on ‘Choosing and Applying’, which was a timely follow on from our Universities Information Evening held for Year 12 parents the week before.
