Year 5 BUDS Pupils – Taking on Murphy’s Law, Print-Making and Public Speaking
Last week’s session saw our Year 5 BUDS Partner schools pupils tackle more extension work in STEM, Creative Thinking and Public Speaking. Allowing children not only to acquire deeper knowledge & understanding, but also learn how to express their ideas whilst having fun.
Myth-busting Murphy’s Law using scientific methods, print-making to express ideas creatively, and learning to argue for and against ideas in debating were all well received!
BUDS is our Saturday enrichment programme working with primary schools in Ealing (Stanhope School, St Gregory’s Catholic Primary School, Montpelier Primary School, Selborne Primary School, North Ealing Primary School and Hobbayne School). The BUDS programme is aimed at Building Understanding, Developing Skills in Gifted and Talented Year 5 pupils from local primary schools. With a focus on Science, English, Maths and Creative Thinking pupils will learn the soft skills required to be able to think creatively, solve problems, and express their own ideas.
