"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Year 5s are ‘Pure Delight’ in End-of-Term Show Aladdin

We ended the Spring Term on a high with the Year 5 show ‘Aladdin’. The Senior Hall came alive with the sound of ‘Arabian Nights’ and ‘A Whole New World’, as weeks of hard work culminated in an incredible performance.

Year 5 had to learn complex choreography, challenging musical scores, including multiple solos, as well as each girl having her own lines to perform.

“My face ached from having smiled and laughed without a break for over an hour!” said Ms Bevan. “Their characterisation, comedic timing and wonderful singing, along with a brilliant company spirit, was a complete joy to behold.”

The innovative casting meant that each main character was played by a number of girls across the different scenes. Continuation was provided by careful colour coding of their costumes, for example all the Aladdins were in red, Jasmines wore turquoise and the Sultans were in white.

“It was really exciting being in the show as everyone got to play a main part, rather than some people just being extras for the whole show,” said Josephine. “The songs are brilliant and we have all loved singing them.”

It meant every girl got a chance to shine and was a huge success with the parents, who awarded Mr Sole a card and theatre vouchers in thanks afterwards. Thank yous also went to form teachers Mrs Wilson and Miss Tidey and all the other staff who have worked so hard producing the show.
