These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Year 7 Teambuilding Day in Marlow

Year 7 spent the day in hard hats and canoes in a full day of activity in Marlow on Friday 16th September. It was a day of getting to know each other through activities based on building trust and problem solving while making new friendships and strengthening the old.

The entire cohort of Year 7 travelled to Marlow via coach to meet the Operation Encounter team. Under their expert leadership, they curated two different types of activities: canoe challenges and high-ropes activities – all aimed at testing leadership and trust with laughs a minute actively encouraged!

Even Year 7 form tutors got in on the action, squeezing into a canoe and finding that keeping balance and staying dry were rather challenging. The students didn’t seem to mind a bit of wet, though – quite a few jumped straight into the water. One student fondly recalls having conversations with the ducks while others interpreted the idea of a canoe race quite differently, pulling their canoes from the water! Everyone had the chance to race in eight-man canoes and fully harnessed (of course) participated in several forest based activities including a challenging Jacobs Ladder game and tower building.

A great day all round!
