"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

2,300+ Books Donated to The Children’s Book Project & Charities Update

By Mrs Johnson, Charities Co-Ordinator

The Children’s Book Project

A huge thank you to all who donated to our book collection last week in the Senior School for The Children’s Book Project. In what we think must be the highest ever number of books donated by us in one go, the charity totted up over 2,300 books, every single one of which will be gifted to another child across London in the week after half term. The Children’s Book Project, which aims to tackle book poverty and to give every child the opportunity to own their own book, was thrilled to receive so many books.

We are delighted to be supporting this fantastic cause again in June when we will be asking our Junior School girls to bring in books on June 15th.

Great Ormond Street Hospital

Year 7 have made a fantastic start to their own fundraising for Great Ormond Street Hospital, their chosen year group charity for this term. Last week they ran a series of Covid-safe bake sales where girls and staff could pre-order their cakes online, then pick them up on set days at school. Then on Friday, NHEHS was turned purple as girls were encouraged to come to school dressed in either the colour purple (the colours of GOSH) or to come to school in their pyjamas in exchange for a donation of £2.

After half term, Year 7 are also planning a fun students v staff fun sports day later in June and a fair for Years 7-10!

The Harrow Club

We are delighted to be supporting our nominated local charity, The Harrow Club, with their latest fundraising drive. They are hoping to raise £40,000 to fund summer activities for children who will not have the opportunity to go on holiday. The activities will include day trips, residentials, activities. Any money donated between 8-15th will be match funded. We will be sending further details shortly!

The Log Cabin – Ealing Half Marathon Team

We are excited to be running in the Ealing Half Marathon in September for our other nominated local charity, The Log Cabin. We would love for as many parents, staff and alumnae to join us, so if you are interested in signing up, please see the School Comms message sent out this week for more details.
