Former Transformational Bursary Student Shares Story at Class of 2024 Reception
We were delighted to welcome back former transformational bursary student, Ayesha Sehgal last Wednesday to our Class of 2024 Drinks Reception for Year 13 students and parents. Ayesha, who, after a degree at Oxford, is now working in rainforest conservation strategy with indigenous people, kindly shared with us how much an NHEHS education meant to her.
Ayesha said, ‘My seven years at Notting Hill and Ealing High School helped mould me into the person I am today and helped me access opportunities I never would have thought possible. The school nurtured me from a young age, both academically and pastorally, and I have made friends and support networks for life. Without the bursary, I would never have been able to attend Notting Hill and Ealing High School, I would not have got the grades required for university, and I would not have felt so confident moving forward into higher education. After graduating from Oxford (History and English, 2021) and achieving my Masters at LSE, I worked at a management consultancy firm in the City. I am now working in the charity sector using my corporate knowledge in a variety of ways, from business plan and bid writing to communications, marketing and advertising. I’m thrilled with the continued support and communications from staff, and of course access to the Alumnae Network! I am eternally grateful to have received the bursary.’
As part of our 150th Anniversary Bursary Campaign, the Class of 2024 parents are rallying to the cause to help other students like Ayesha to get the same opportunity by donating their deposit.
