Amnesty Youth Group Walk for Refugee Week

Our Year 8 NHEHS Amnesty Youth Group took on the challenge of walking to Richmond last Thursday as part of Refugee Week.

By Marianne, Millie, Dunya  and Freya (Year 8)

On Thursday June 17th , our Amnesty Youth Group went on a walk in support of refugees. We decided as a group that we wanted to raise money and educate other people as well as learning about ourselves and experiencing just a fraction of what they have to deal with whilst trying to reach the safety of a new country.

We walked 7 miles from school in Ealing to Richmond and had lots of fun along the way and looked for all the Capital Ring signs. We managed to raise £500 through our Just Giving page and we are so grateful for all the support and excited to be helping a very worthy cause.

We really enjoyed doing this walk and we would love to do something like this again. We hope that us doing this walk and trying to help in bringing awareness to the cause will inspire others to do the same.
