"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Condover U13 GDST Netball Tournament – Cup & Plate Champions!

Netball teams from all over the GDST family travelled to Condover Hall for the annual netball tournament which took place on the weekend of March 7/8th. Having missed out previously due to Covid, this was the first time our Year 8s had taken part, and what a tournament they had!

This Year the U13 A team were very successful at the annual Condover Hall GDST Netball Tournament. We played a series of matches throughout the weekend and were unbeaten throughout. On Saturday we played eight tough matches against various GDST schools and managed to win all of them and get through to the playoffs on Sunday.

In the playoffs, we played three hard matches and got through to the semi finals! Then, we played against Putney High’s B team; it was a close and difficult match but again we won! This got us into the finals in which we played Portsmouth High School; they were our hardest match but we still won with a score of 8-6! Overall, the U13 A team played really well and we should be proud of ourselves!

Throughout the very exciting residential trip to Condover Hall Shropshire, the NHEHS B team performed exceptionally. On the first day (Saturday 7th) we played nine matches against different schools. Unfortunately, we missed out on qualifying for the Cup section by only one place, but we were happy with our results! The following day (Sunday) we played the teams who had placed 6th, 7th and 8th on Saturday and we won all of those matches. Therefore, we qualified for the quarter finals which we won and then the semi finals which we also won getting us into the finals. The final was against Blackheath High School GDST, who we had lost against on Saturday so we tried to keep positive. The quarters were played and at the end of the last quarter we were tied. All of us were nervous to play the additional two minutes of extra time. Within the first minute of the extra time we had managed to turn over a centre and get a goal. Now, it was our centre pass, Minna stepped into the circle and off we went. We only had about 30 seconds of play left on the clock and we played cleanly, managing to get the ball into the circle, where I shot the final goal for the B’s. The whistle blew and they were tears of joy in all of our eyes- we had won!

Condover Hall has been one of the big highlights of the year. There were lots of activities and opportunities to show off our skills. The C team won all of our pool games qualifying for the Cup; Which we are super proud of seeing as we played against other schools’ A and B teams. Some of the highlights were all the climbing activities and the other activities that were available on site. We were able to play a whole lot of matches and work as a team. We had an amazing team mascot (a squeaky bird) which cheered us on the whole way. All in all it was a great experience and we would love to do it again.
