"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Ealing Age UK Appeal

Ealing Age UK are based in Greenford where they aim to improve the health and well-being of older people in Ealing.

Their activities help to reduce isolation and provide opportunities to meet new people and try new and different activities. Year 7 and 8 students at NHEHS enjoyed singing Christmas carols to many of the clients last December and several sixth formers have committed their time to the Day Centre where they have befriended the members. Sadly, the Day Centre has not been able to open since March owing to Covid.

However, NHEHS can still play a role in helping the community to feel valued and remembered by donating food, non-food items and unwanted gifts (see here for Ealing Age UK Collection List). All will be gratefully received and will be included in hampers which will be delivered to the residents throughout December. Please bring the items into school by Monday 16th November.

Government guidelines permitting, there will also be opportunities for sixth formers and parents to help pack the hampers at the day centre from the beginning of December. This is likely to be on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday between 10 am and 4 pm. More details to follow.

Thank you!
