First Ever Volunteering Day at NHEHS
We are eagerly looking forward to our whole school Volunteering Day on June 12th as part of our NHEHS 150th birthday celebrations.
Every member of the school will be participating in a volunteering activity either at school or within the Ealing community, highlighting our core values of kindness, respect, inclusion, and empathy, and reinforcing our long-standing culture of philanthropy and community support.
By involving all pupils and staff, we aim to create a real impact and instil in our students a sense of service through a shared purpose within our school culture.
Celebrating our 150th year, this special event marks our commitment to our school aims of building more understanding and compassion for others in school and the wider community. The day of volunteering will also offer both students and staff the opportunity to develop their skills, enjoy new experiences and create memories as we celebrate what makes NHEHS unique, building understanding and compassion within our school and beyond.
A taste of some of the activities lined up:
Year 7 participating in a sponsored walk and creating community art projects.
Year 8 visiting three of our local Care Homes (singing, craft activities). Volunteering with the Log Cabin charity plus helping out at the Honey & Grape Farm, Boston Manor Park and Gurnell Grove.
Year 9 students will providing languages activities at North Ealing, St Gregory’s and Drayton Green Primary Schools. They will also be helping out at the Honey & Grape Farm, with onsite gardening at school and organising the Mencap Fair.

Year 12 students will be going into local primary schools to listen to children read, while we are hosting PE and science lessons for pupils from North Ealing and St Gregory’s primary schools here at NHEHS.
There will also be an Amnesty sponsored walk across all the year groups.
