"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Fun Friday Finale for Careers Week 2022

By Hannah B, Careers Rep

Last Friday 11th March was the final day of National Careers Week 2022 and Careers Day at NHEHS. To celebrate this, the careers team ran events through lunch to help students get more involved in careers, especially to show how vast and changing the world of jobs is.

Out in the courtyard we ran a ‘Hook a Career’ game where girls would have the chance to hook a duck which had an obscure career on the bottom for the chance to win a prize. Students seemed really interested in these more unconventional jobs being shown such as ‘Snake milker’ and ‘Lego master builder’ and got to learn about different jobs they could do.

Another activity was to pin the teacher to the job quiz being run in the atrium. This game involved girls trying to figure out the past jobs of various teachers in the school and pair them up. There were loads of really good guesses with Zaira and Freya in Year 13 winning with an incredible 23/24 jobs guessed correctly. This really gave students a chance to see how often jobs change throughout life and how varied careers can be.

Overall, everyone was very enthusiastic and it was a really good opportunity to get girls more involved in thinking about the possibilities of their future careers.
