"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Get to Know our New Head Girl Team for 2024-25!

At the beginning of term, all Year 12s were invited to apply for the positions with a fantastic 28 individuals putting themselves forward. As part of the process they had to give two-minute presentations during the HGT Hustings in front of their peers and staff, before a school-wide vote (staff and pupils).

The top candidates then participated in panel interviews with members of the Senior Leadership Team and outgoing Head Girl, Lewhat. The final six were announced to the school by Mr Shoults in assembly when our outgoing 2023-24 HGT handed over the reins to new Head Girl Nathana and her team of Nirupama, Addy, Carmen, Ariana and Games Captain, Hope.

Tell us something surprising about yourself?

I love, love, love crime shows. I’m a massive fan of any show with Shemar Moore in it (S.W.A.T., Criminal Minds). One of my favourite shows of all time is Murder She Wrote (starring Dame Angela Lansbury), its old but I think it’s amazing. In terms of other shows, I enjoy Law & Order SVU, any Agatha Christie (Poirot or Marple, but ONLY the ITV series), NCIS, Vera, Lewis, and especially Endeavour.

What would you like to achieve in your new role?

In this role I hope to help build a greater sense of community within the school and strengthen our ties with our local community. I’d also like to help increase transparency between the team and the rest of the school, so that the students know exactly what we are doing to help them out. I also think it’s important to provide more support for bursary students to help them feel at home in our school environment, but this also goes for any other student as well.
