Miss Munro-Hall’s Good Luck Poem to Year 11!
This week our Year 11s celebrated their last day at school before their GCSE study leave started. On their final day, we enjoyed afternoon tea and cake, with students and staff sharing great memories,
anecdotes and moments from their five years at senior school.
Our Year 11 Tutor team shared their own good luck messages for the students too.
As well as the traditional signing/hand printing of school shirts and goody bags, Head of Year 11 Miss Munro-Hall wrote her own poem to the entire year group of students whom she had known since they were in Year 7. She had also been their Head of Year for Year 10, so had got to know them pretty well!
Miss Munro’s Poem to Year 11
There once was a year group I met in Year 7 and now they are at the end of Year 11. As you joined in Year 7, all bright eyed and excited, many of you I met in the Netball teams of 7.
Seph, Ellie, Katherine, Kavi, Caitlin, Ava and Gen showing us how it is done and always giving 10 out of 10. Joining us along the way were Zara and Bea, the best additions to keep a smile on the face of Miss Dunkley.
Then there’s the dancers, Flo, Adriana, Milla, Heather, Cordy, Connie and Emily, I’ll always remember your fabulous performance in our Year 10 assembly.
Then we move onto the swimmers, Alicia, Chloe and Evangeline, keeping their successes quiet but always keeping Mr Bent oh so keen.
Coming to the end of Sports and Hockey. Getting through to regionals this year with Anna, Mia and Maddie.
Then in Year 10 I got to know you all even better and managed to get every surname down to the letter.
I found out that Maddie, Sophia, Naya, Sofia, Isabella and Clemmie were all budding, talented artists who I can see having their own galleries already.
Ariella, Shivani, Bea and Shreya next – moving up the music grades, always performing in orchestras and acting as though they are already getting paid.
Olivia, Kaya, Asina and Leah always providing the good kind of Drama. Acting and performing and couldn’t seem any calmer.
Natasha and Ellie, I’m sure I will see you lots on the telly, performing and singing making me giggle until I get a sore belly.
Then we come to what I’m sure are the next prime ministers and politicians.
Shaan, Lewhat, Bella, Isie and Clem, I’m sure all your hard work and public speaking will come to fruition.
Then we move onto those with hidden talents. Ansley waking up in the early hours to row but managing to find the perfect balance.
Shobhitha goes to gymnastics competitions on many weekends, and brings back gold medals due to her first class backbends.
Isabella taking Ancient Greek GCSE a year early, something I couldn’t have done until I was probably thirty.
Charmy committed to trampolining weekly and perfecting the skill of somersaulting so neatly.
And lastly onto Maddy H who is able to pass exams in ballet and tap, but also talented around a athletics track.
Then to those that just have a way with Maths. Vivien, Venus, Elisha, Abbi, Sarah-Jane, Nur, Harinee and Mary. I’m sure I’ll see you in the news discovering some equation that’s impossibly scary.
Some of our budding scientists next. Tara, Joanna, Leela, Daisy, Amrit, Jo, Harneet and Rithi, making mole equations look ridiculously easy.
We move onto our historians, Daisy, Saima, Bronwyn, Natalie, Leena and Sasha. Gathering data with ease from sources and analysing to determine significant causes.
Then to those who have their heads in a book. Lydia, Louise and Elizabeth whose writing always makes you want to have a second look.
Coming to the end, Eva, Sasha and Milan making strides in Latin, something I always admire as it’s a subject I always fell flat in!
Then we move to those who are creative, Maggie, Tiger-Lily, Nyla , Esme and Tess. I can see you all in something like advertising or talented illustrators with your work in the press.
Then finally we look upon those all rounders who also help their peers. Flora, Ella, Iva, Diya, Charlotte, Chloe and Kiera. Definitely wise beyond their years.
That wraps up my little poem. I’ll miss you all lots and all your constant little dramas.
Pointing out your jewellery and trackies 24/7 and trying my best to make you all feel a little calmer.
Best of luck to you all for your exams and sixth form, I am sure you will all succeed and take it all by storm!
We will miss you and wish you lots of luck with your future plans! See you for Results Day in August!
