"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Natasha Devon on Stress & Anxiety – Managing Yourself

Year 8 had a PSHCEE talk this morning from Natasha Devon called Stress and Anxiety – Managing Yourself  – which looked at the ‘role stress and anxiety play in our wellbeing, as well as our ability to learn. We understand that stress and anxiety are an inevitable part of being human and the difference between these normal responses and anxiety disorders. We then explore healthy ways to keep levels of stress and anxiety manageable, by engaging in regular endorphin-creating activities and understand this is what keeps our ‘mental fitness’ high.’

Natasha also shared these useful resources which she recommended for teenagers:

SLA quiz and tips on motivation: https://www.sla.org.uk/article/hannah-groves/how-to-motivate-yourself-to-study-from-home/2174

BBC Bitesize video on motivation: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zdc3trd
