NHEHS Wins Ealing Borough Schools Cross Country Relays 2024

By Sofia B, Year 8

On Wednesday the 20th of March, NHEHS athletes from a range of year groups competed in the Ealing Schools Cross Country Relay championships.

There were three teams of 5 with one girl from each Year (7, 8, 9, 10, 11 or 12) and each teammate ran 1.5 kilometres. The Year 7’s started the race, and all ran super well, keeping the positions first, second and third girl. Then, they passed it onto the Year 8’s who maintained those positions and the 9,10,11 and 12’s helped the teams come first, third and fourth overall! Everyone was very supportive and positive and cheered everyone including the other teams to the finish line.

In the end, the first team all got medals (Emily, Sofia, Lily, Minna and Natasha) for winning the relay and a few NHEHS runners got extra medals for having the fastest time in their year group – Emily, Sofia, Minna and Natasha. Overall, all three teams did really well, and we all had a really fun afternoon!
