Sports Update – April 29th 2022
Team of the week is the U15 Cricket Team (indoors) who have made it through to the National Regional Finals (Southeast of England). They will be heading to Guildford on Thursday 5th May to play in this Regional Tournament. The first time EVER an NHEHS team has made this round!
Athletics
The 27th of April saw our first athletics fixture of the season with U12-U15 athletics meeting at Perivale Athletics Track against St Benedict’s School, St Augustine’s and Godolphin & Latymer School. Full results are yet to be confirmed, but some hugely positive performances for the start of the athletics season, a few to note:
Year 8: Kitty G won the Javelin with 17m20, Annabella K won the shot put with 7m60.
Year 9: Zoe J won the Discus with 16m87cm, Amelie C won the Long Jump with 4m10, Natasha B won the 800m with 2 minutes 27 seconds, Hannah P won the 200m in 29.50 seconds and Morven P won the 75m hurdles in 13.96 seconds.
Year 10: Iris C won the long jump with 4.30m, Ellie C won the Javelin with 20.30m and Rosie H won the 200m in 28.70 seconds and the 100m in 13.96 seconds.
Cricket
On April 27th we were crowned Indoor U15 County Champions (London and Middlesex!)
Match 1 vs William Perkin: fielded first and bowled them out for 35. Then batted; after losing 3 quick wickets, the partnership of Jasmine and Jaspreet was good. NHEHS won the match by surpassing their total. Match 2 vs Highgate: fielded first and bowled them out for 45. Then batted and all batters performed well. NHEHS won the match by beating our opponents’ total. A fantastic team performance!
Tennis
Our U12 tennis team played away at Godolphin & Latymer and lost 11-27: overall we won 11 games, lost 27 and drew 6 games. Our U13A team played the same opponents the following day at home and lost overall 2-14, having won 2 games, drawn 2 and lost 14. Our U15 and U14 teams fared better at St Augustine’s on 28th April, both coming away with a 14-1 win.
