Two Awesome Authors Visit Junior School Ahead of Book Week
We were lucky enough to have not one but TWO author visits today ahead of Book Week next week!
Jess Butterworth, author of ten books, ran fantastic creative writing sessions for Year 4 and 5 in the morning where girls worked on developing a character – from their favourite food and place to be, to what do they see when they look in the mirror and does anything scare them? In the afternoon the whole of Year 4 then enjoyed a lively discussion with Jess around her book “When the Mountains Roared” in the library.
Meanwhile over in Year 3, we were joined online by Emma Carroll, the author of our class novel, “Secrets of a Sun King.” Emma spoke all about coming up with an idea for a book and the process of writing a book, before taking questions from inquisitive Year 3s, which included who her favourite authors were, where she writes her books and what inspires her.
A huge thank you to both Jess and Emma. We can’t wait for Book Week! More photos on our Instagram.
