Two NHEHS Teachers Appointed as PSHE Trust Consultants
We were delighted to hear over the summer that two of our members of staff have been appointed as Trust Consultants for PSHE to work across the 25 GDST schools and academies.
Congratulations to Miss Munro-Hall and Mrs Ferguson on their respective positions as Senior and Junior PSHE Trust Consultant Teachers.
GDST Trust Consultants are highly trained and experienced subject experts who work across the GDST establishing best practice, fostering collaboration and supporting the delivery of an outstanding girls-only education. Read more about the current Trust Consultant Teachers here.
Miss Munro-Hall aims to support and collaborate with Senior PSHE Leads across the GDST to ensure they are equipped with all the tools, resources and confidence they need to deliver PSHE in the most effective, informative and engaging way. She believes that educating early, using correct signposting and terminology, as well as ensuring that the classroom is a safe and open space for the girls to share their thoughts, is pivotal to forward-thinking PSHE. This will allow the girls to develop ideas independently when they move into their adult lives.
Currently Miss Munro-Hall is Head of Year 11, Head of PSHE and a PE teacher. Having taught for seven years in a variety of roles, including Head of House, Miss Munro-Hall is also a mental health first aider.
Mrs Ferguson is collaborating with Junior PSHE teachers so that together, girls across the GDST are equipped with the tools and confidence they need to flourish now and in the future.
Based at NHEHS Junior School, she believes that engaging, inspired and valued PSHE lessons help to foster an environment where the girls can learn about their emotions, discuss pertinent issues and explore how to create safe and fulfilling relationships with their families, friends, communities and most crucially themselves.
Since beginning her teaching career in her homeland Australia, Mrs Ferguson also completed a yearlong teacher exchange in Canada, before joining us in 2009. She is currently a Year 3 teacher and has led PSHE since 2013.
Miss Munro-Hall and Mrs Ferguson are looking forward to September 28th when we are hosting our first GDST Learn Day this month for all the PSHE leads across the GDST where we hope to start collaborating and sharing our vision for the year ahead
We now have three Trust Consultants among our staff, as Miss Munro-Hall and Mrs Ferguson join Gray Foster Felton, our Special Educational Needs Coordinator at NHEHS and SEND Trust Consultant Teacher across the GDST.
