Weekly Sports Update – September 29th 2023

It’s been a very busy couple of weeks for our sports teams across the board!

Performances of the week:

U13 Netball Team coming fourth at the GSA Condover tournament

Anna W being selected for the England Hockey Talent Pathway

Natasha B winning the 12-16 Ealing Mini Mile. Sofia B (3rd), Alice W-B, Maris S-W, Layla R all placing in the top 6 in their age groups.

Erin L, Anishka G, Aila A, Ava J all being selected for the U13 Middlesex netball performance squad.

Eloise S awarded “Reserve Champion” (2nd place) in the 70 cm Showjumping National Championships at Hickstead.

Lily B and Lana G being selected for the Middlesex Cricket squad.

Tennis

Our U13A team played and won the LTA Division 2 Final by 6-0 against North London Collegiate School at home, so are Division 2 County Champions! Congratulations to our tennis players!

Netball

The week of September 15th saw the annual Ibstock netball tournaments. The U13 A team won their age category and the U12 A finished fourth. Well done to all!

The U12A team lost 15-25 in the SistersnSport Cup away to Highgate School (MVP Alice W-B), while the U14A team won 41-21 in the same cup competition at home vs Ibstock Place (MVPs Joanna D and Ash P). We hosted Godolphin & Latymer’s U14 teams on 19th September with our visitors winning 7-4 in the A match (MVP Lily H) and 16-6 in the B game.

There was also the much-anticipated Old Girls Netball match vs the U18A team with the U18s taking the win 36-8 (MVP Bea G).

The following week saw our U13A and U14A teams take part in the GSA Condover Hall tournament where they finished fourth and seventh respectively. The U13s won 10 matches, drew 1 and only lost 1 to Putney High. The U14s won 10 and lost 2 games. Well done to both teams!

On their return, the U13A team defeated Lady Eleanor Holles 26-24 (MVP Erin L) on September 25th with the U12A team winning 17-11 – both in the SSM Cup. On the same day, the U13Bs lost 7-10 to St Augustine’s A team (MVP Lara V-H), U13C won 14-9 (MVP Clara S), U13D lost 1-4 (MVP Beatrix O), U13E won 12-3 (MVP Chloe R).

The U18A team beat St Benedict’s 39-19 in the SistersnSport Cup first round. St Augustine’s hosted our U12 teams on 26th September, with our B team winning 7-6 (MVP Essa G), C team also 7-6 (MVP Raphaelle N), D team 9-1 (MVP Ottilie C) and E team 11-0 (MVP Miriam S).  The U18A and B teams played away at St Paul’s with the A team losing 17-28 while the B team won 17-8 vs the C team. The U15A team won away against Mill Hill and Belmont Schools in the National Cup first round 31-21 while the U15B and C teams lost away 11-19 and 9-21 respectively at Godolphin & Latymer.

St Paul’s hosted our U13 teams on 28th September, with our A team winning 22-20 in the Sistersnsport Cup (MVP Ava J), the B team winning 12-8 (MVP Ella S), the C team drawing 13 all (MVP Ciara S) and the D team losing 5-12 (MVP Beatrix O).

Waterpolo

Our U14A team won 7-5 in an away fixture at Highgate School.

Cross Country

Our Junior, Intermediate and Senior teams travelled to Harrow for the Middlesex County Round of the English Schools Athletics Association Cross Country Cup on 28th September. Our Junior and Intermediate teams finished second and qualified for the Regional Round in November. Read more here.

Hockey

Our 1st XI played away at Latymer Upper School on 25th September but lost 0-2 (MVP Clemmie L-W and Anna W). Our U15A team lost 0-5 away at Godolphin & Latymer (MVP Olivia B), while our U12As lost 1-4 (MVP Maria S-W) and U12Bs drew 0-0 (MVP Ana M). Our U13A team had a great 5-0 away at Highgate School (MVP Lara V-H) with our U13Bs winning 3-1.
