Year 4 have been awarded a certificate from the Royal Opera House of London, for their completion of the immersive course on the opera ‘Carmen.’

For weeks, Year 4 have been learning about the origins and history of opera, where it comes from, and what the original languages used were. They learnt all about Bizet’s masterpiece, and prepared and performed the three most important arias in the opera: Toreador, La Garde Montante and Habanera. Girls had a great time performing like an opera singer and learning all the different voices used in the opera, from bass and baritone, to soprano and counter-tenor.
