"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

120+ Activities at Virtual Clubs Fair

With a choice of over 120 activities at our Extra-Curricular Clubs Fair last week, there was something for everyone!

This year, our Clubs Fair was entirely virtual, with girls either watching short clips showing what each activity was about, or in some cases joining in with a google meet link to go online and ask the Sixth Form subject reps and teachers running the club questions about their clubs. Year 13 Games Captain Iris was also on hand to chat live on Google Meet about any of the sports activities too.  Girls were encouraged to try something new by the persuasive reps and teachers who run the before-school, lunchtime and after-school clubs.

This year saw the return of perennial favourites such as Horrible Histories, Coup Club, Ealing Teen Read, Med Soc, Coding for All, Hans Woyda, DT Club, Geography Society, Classics Masterclass and Junior Classics, French Film Club, PRE Club, Cipher Club, Pi Club, Life Drawing and Bridge Improvers.

Some brand new clubs made it onto the timetable too, including some with intriguing names! These included Jury Duty, Rhetoric room, History and Politics Magazine, Talking Points, Tycoon Enterprise, Physics Tea Club, First Aid, Science Masterclass, Chinese Chess, Science Research: Melt, Culture club, Chocolate con Churros Club, Astronomy, Meditation and Tai Chi Fan,

As well as the 50+ interest clubs, there were plenty of opportunities for girls with music, drama or sporting interests too. The 19 different music activities available included a wide range of styles and groups, from choirs (Senior, Harmony and Chamber), to bands for various Year groups (Rock, Piano, Violin, Bassoon Trio, Jazz, Flute Ensemble, Film Music Ensemble) to orchestras (Chamber and Session) to Composition Clubs, Music Theory, Acapella and Songwriting.

Drama clubs were much in demand too with girls signing up for Backstage Pass groups 1-3 as well as the Year 7 Drama Club.

The sports offer included 45 clubs, including popular teamsports (netball (including A-F teams for Year 7 and 8), hockey, football, cricket and specialist coaching for key positions such as netball shooting club and hockey goalkeeping. Taking advantage of our swimming pool, waterpolo and swimming clubs were popular options, with other activities including badminton, fencing, gymnastics, dance, kickboxing, Taekwondo, trampoline (starting at a later date), running club and strength and conditioning clubs.

Full details of all the extra-curricular clubs can be found on Firefly.
