"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

A Splendid Time was had by Year 10-13 Drama Students

On Thursday 16th January 2020 Splendid Productions came to NHEHS to present a morning workshop followed by a performance of Dr Faustus to our Year 10-13 drama students.

Split into three groups of mixed ages for the morning workshops, girls were set a series of creative challenges to interpret: one included acting how to run a marathon as a group, demonstrating the power of the collective acting as one together, in another session, half of one group acted out the most dramatic deaths imaginable while their opposites celebrated with the best celebration ever.

Creativity and originality were encouraged throughout the morning, particularly in devising some brilliant and fun interpretations of traditional fairy tales.

These included the mystery of Humpty Dumpty falling off the wall leading to criminal investigations of the wall and the moss(!), others acting the roles of candy canes in ‘Hansel and Gretel,’ a zumba lesson depicting the plague in ‘The Pied Piper,’ not to mention a very alternative version of ‘Cinderella!

The day culminated in a fantastic performance of Dr Faustus in the drama studio by Splendid, with their own new creative adaptation of this all-time classic.
