"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Charities Update – February 2023

Last week saw the return of the Sixth Form/Staff panto for the first time in years. Our retelling of ‘Alice in Wonderland’ not only delighted its audience, it also raised over £1,000 for the Sixth Form’s chosen charity, Meningitis Now. You can still donate to this wonderful cause here on our Just Giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/nhehspanto2023

For their latest venture, the Sixth Formers are offering a ‘Galantines’ rose delivery service for friends this week, again in aid of Meningitis Now.

Year 9 have been busy fundraising for their two chosen charities, supporting child refugees in Palestine through Unicef and Brainstrust. For Unicef, they ran two break-time bake sales in the atrium and a lunchtime Fun Fair in the hall. They are also lining up a brownie delivery too! A separate initiative saw the Year 9s run a sale of Beanie Babies in aid of Brainstrust. So far, the Year 9s have raised over £500 this half term – well done!

Our first 7Rs Week at school happened at the end of January with students raising money from the events all week for WWF (donations to the climate recovery fund), bringing in over £300. We also adopted a penguin on behalf of the school.
